Smell of Smoke

the
snow
scape
crisp white
winter frost
chill around me
a sharp cold wind
biting from behind
bright thawing heat
dancing flicker in front
enjoying the smoke scent
wafting up from burning
logs crackling popping
into dancing flames
of warm solitude
full around me
beneath this
pinescape

  1. Love this Stephen.. the shape compliments the fire and warmth of your words

  2. Reblogged this on cookiedmouse's Blog and commented:
It’s snowing again – beautiful poem for the season from merlinspielen

  3. I love the shape you have done this in. Brilliant poem, and very well done. (Not that I am a critic of course)

  4. While I know I’ve got you somewhere – I’ve finally bookmarked your place so I can find you again! Thanks to Cookiedmouse. I’ve played around with some shape poems on my long verse site…Let me see if I can find you one…

I’ve a few others, too, but I don’t have them all in one place. Might be a project to put all the shape poems in one place…if and when I find the time.

    Be well. Cheers.

    • Thanks Jules! I do the same find a blog I enjoy and then lose track as I had more blogs to my list of ones to read. So many delightful writers to read. Glad you dropped by and reminded me how to find my way back to your postings.

      • I’m not to adept at ‘Computerese’ but I figured out how to make more than one bookmark list. And every once in a while I attempt to put them in alphabetical order.
I need some kind of a file system that I can find blogs by 1)blog name 2)name the person replies with (which can be different) 3)if available e-mail. I don’t have a ‘smart phone either’ I’m thinking old fashioned – three 3 X 5 card file boxes :)
Or at least three different computer files! Cheers – and thanks.

Shall we have a conversation?
