  1. This isn’t a haiku. A haiku’s meter is 5, 7, 5. This meter’s is 4, 4, 2.


    1. It isn’t a classic haiku – not only because I ignored the 5-7-5 structure but I also have no reference to nature or a season. The English form of the classic Haiku is borrowed from Japanese and because of the language differences there is no “correct” English form. The 5-7-5 (or 17 syllables) in length format is the academically taught form as is 3-5-3. I intentionally choose to ignore that for a very specific reason. However my reason is apparently more obscure than I hoped 🙂
