Poem: Easter

(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is  a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy!  Here is Poem #5…)

eggs broken
free from foil wrappers
and enjoyed

easter dawns
unexpectedly
snow covered

making spring
wrap herself in white
taking pause

she whispers
to sister winter
a warm thanks

for the gift
the snows will bestow
in melting

awakening
sleeping spring flowers
into bloom.
