Poem: February Tenth

Jenny spoke softly,
Jenny stood near me.
She touched the sky,
and showed me why
the sun dances

Jenny laughing said
Jenny smiling did
whatever she
wanted to be
taking chances

Jenny’s gone away
Jenny didn’t stay
followed her heart
for the most part
I have ashes.

  1. Stunning! So clever, the sing songy child like rhythm and then the poignant ending, proof that simple and profound are all but mutually exclusive. Beautiful. Really enjoyed that. H x

    1. Huh. And here I thought I was just being randomly lazy. I knew I had to write my poem of the day but couldn’t make my brain stay on track. Kept talking to a mythical persona named Jenny. Inner child possesses the tired poet. 🙂
