Poem: February Twenty-seventh

smooth as stone
cold as bone
buried in the ground;

buried deep
beneath our feet
waiting to be found;

waiting there
planted prayer
staying safe and sound;

staying locked
where we walked
back and forth around;

back in time
garden grime
piled in a mound;

piled high
we passed by
two young hearts unbound;

two in love
and then thereof
seeking to be crowned;

seeking heat
indiscreet
smooth we are ungowned…

smooth as stone
cold as bone
buried in the ground;
