Poem: Heretic

(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is  a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy!  Here is Poem #9.)

I don’t believe
I can’t believe
There is no doubt in me
What is above is only sky
And what is down below
We really already know

Yet you would claim
my disbelief’s a shame
that I am the one in error
then you threaten me with terror

Tell me where is the sense
in your taking offense?
If there is a god above
he is the one to judge me
Or do you claim to be
greater than your god?

Shall we have a conversation?
