Poem: Quirk

(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is  a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy!  Here is Poem #20.)

I lay out my thoughts
and you evade my feelings
stepping around and over
the very heart of the matter
beating down my desires
like nothing at all

Arch of eyebrow you
make it utterly clear
that the only oddity here
is the peculiar thoughts
lingering in my own brain
and fluttering inside
what was once my dreams.
