Poem: December Seventeenth

Merry throngs;
Christmas songs;
Enwrapping wrongs;
While pretending,
we are mending,
by overspending…

Please pause to realize,
that all I need to receive;
is already present in your heart.

Merry Christmas,
is best expressed,
with a simple kiss,
exchanged betwixt.

Give me nothing
that cannot fit
inside my heart.

      1. A little bit – my oven has become unreliable. The elements cut out after 20 minutes – and well that is an expense that will have to wait. So I have been holiday baking in the toaster oven – which makes things a wee bit tedious 🙂
