Poem: Cent

(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is  a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy!  Here is Poem #3.)

Penny for your thoughts and
I’ll give you broken promises.
Well, I never really offered
you just misunderstood.

I never said I loved you and
clearly I never really could.
You just choose to overlook
the subtlety of my intent.

See here – right where I said
my ambiguous circumspection
avoidant perambulation of minutiae.
Which in retrospective, I never meant.

Just my two cents on the matter.
Hope that helps you understand.
Quite the lucky bargain truly:
A penny for your thought
gets you double of mine.

Shall we have a conversation?
