Poem: Down the Drain

(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is  a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy!  Here is Poem #4.)

You don’t see how this is a waste
of my time and your time
yet here we go again in haste
spiraling around and down

Dirty dishwater in the sink
pull the plug and let it out;
watch it swirl down and away.
Let it go – no need to stay.

There’s no way this will ever be
anything more than a fantasy.
And bang here we go no hesitation;
on a crazy ride with no destination.

Dirty dishwater in the sink
pull the plug and let it out;
watch it swirl down and away.
Let it go – no need to stay.

Shall we have a conversation?
