Poem: Each to Each

(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is  a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy!  Here is Poem #5.)

I walked alone
along the beach
hearing the ocean sing

She sang of storms
old broken ships
and a thousand things

She broke my heart
making me weep
salty tears for her waves

I stood alone
hoping to see
the mermaids far away

Then she slipped
back up on shore
and took me out to my grave.

Shall we have a conversation?
