Poem: Foreplay

(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is  a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy!  Here is Poem #6.)

long hard week
has worn us down
leaving us feeling
the need to cocoon

oh come on baby
nestle up right here
let me wrap you up
in a big bear hug

feel it slide right down
shivers up your spine;
let me undo this
and whatever feels tight

glass of red wine
kisses on your neck
feel that tension
become a memory

feel this warm touch –
you know I’m hungry
for every bit of you
in every sinful way

let’s just pretend
nothing else matters
just us here alone
taking our sweet time.

Shall we have a conversation?
