Poem: Wonder

(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is  a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy!  Here is Poem #25.)

Warm coffee bitter black,
you resting against my back,
cool afternoon breezes stirring
the yellow roses on our drapes.

This place is my heaven,
here with you by my side,
there’s nothing else I need

You are my daily wonder with
joyous laughter in your eyes.
If you leave take me with you,
I couldn’t bear the emptiness.
