(For National Poetry Month I am writing a stream-of-conscious poem per day. Each poem is a spontaneous poem single edit – could get messy! Here is Poem #2.)
In random seeking
I stumble across
your presence my
facial recognition
making my heart leap
at the warm familiar
languid shape of you
lounging across my screen
not even the lines of time
or your bottled hair of the week
can deny my own heart
aching mind and memory of our past
unconditionally lost
love fossilized deep down
inside the feel of you
founding me
social media rewinds unbinds
our blind regrets
– re-wounds long scabbed over stigmata –
I bleed again from desire
to have and to hold
while musing as poets do
“ah if only we had been different..”
blocking
how it wouldn’t be the same.
Thank you to Susan for the inspiration from her wonderful poem: https://susandanielspoetry.com/2019/04/02/29-years-later/
If this is your riff, it is no longer a riff and it’s own sweet, sad song.

It is at the core inspired by your own post. Same journey via different paths
