A Wabi Sabi Sort Of Democracy

via A Wabi Sabi Sort Of Democracy

I love the marriage of Wabi Sabi and Democracy in this post.  Wabi Sabi is – in a single sentence imperfect sentence – a Japanese philosophy that there is beauty and utility in that which is imperfect.

True democracy is daily imperfection. It is the muttered mindfulness of the prayer:

“grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.”

And that is democratic Wabi Sabi.

Shall we have a conversation?
